Metrowerks Inc, the Austin, Texas-based provider of application development tools, has reported a second-quarter net loss of $1.2m on revenue up 28.1% at $6.2m, against a loss of $963,000 in the year-ago period. Six-month net loss was $1.7m on revenue of $12.9m, while comparative figures for the year-ago period were unavailable. The company says the quarter showed the first impact of new accounting guidelines established under the AICPA’s Statement of Position 97-2, which resulted in the deferral until the third quarter of four transactions described by the company as significant.
