Merant Plc, formerly called Micro Focus Group, the London, UK and Mountain View, California-based Cobol software tools company, has reported third-quarter net income down 51.5% at $5.2m on revenue down 5.1% at $95.7m. Nine-month net income fell 37.3% to $13.5m on revenue up 2.2% at $278.1m. Net earnings per share fell 51.3% to $0.18 in the quarter and 37.3% to $0.47 in the nine months.
