3Dfx Interactive Inc, San Jose-based 3-D graphics chip maker, has reported third-quarter net income of $3.1m on revenue of $33.2m, compared to a net loss of $872,000 on revenue of $10m a year ago. Nine-month net income was $19.6m on revenue of $141.9m, against a net loss of $3.8m on revenue of $21.8m last year. Earnings per share were $0.20 for the quarter and $1.22 for the nine months. The results for the quarter were boosted by the recognition of extraordinary income from the settlement of litigation with Sega Enterprises Ltd. The amount of the settlement was not disclosed.
