The next-generation offerings include Simpana OnePass; Simpana SnapProtect; Simpana software enhancements; Simpana Edge Protection; and Simpana 9 integration with Microsoft SharePoint.
With the converged backup, archive and reporting process, Simpana OnePass reduces the combined time required to backup, archive and report by more than 50% over traditional methods, to further protect, manage and access vast data on systems.
Delivering hardware snapshot integration, Simpana SnapProtect technology provides customers with SAN investment protection and choice, eliminating the backup window, accelerating recovery and reducing costs.
Virtual server adoption is accelerated by Simpana software enhancements to further help organisations better manage, protect and scale virtual machines across their enterprises and into the cloud.
In addition to protect data on laptops and desktops with embedded source deduplication for optimised efficiency, new Simpana Edge Protection provides end users flexibility to search, access and perform self-service recovery through any Windows, iOS and/or Android device.
The company claims that Simpana 9 integration with Microsoft SharePoint improves application performance, capacity utilisation and shrinks backup windows.
