General Instrument Corp says its CommScope Division has acquired the assets of Teledyne Inc’s Thermatics unit, a wire and cable manufacturer specializing in high temperature cables in Elm City, North Carolina, for $18m. The coaxial, multiconductor and fiber optic cables are used in local network and other markets.
