Vilnius, Lithuania-based Comliet said it would take 100% ownership of network integrator Sonex Komunikacjos from Sonex Group for an undisclosed sum. The deal will also include partnership agreements between Comliet and Sonex Group in the Baltic and Russian markets.

Komunikacjos provides implementation services for voice, data and communication networks, with Ericsson as its main infrastructure partner, and the company counts firms such as AB Lietuvos Energija, AB Lietuvos Dujos, SPAB Lietuvos Gelelinkeliai, AB Maleikiu Nafta, Lietuvos Elektrine, Government’s Communications Centre, Government’s Office, President’s Office of Lithuania, and the Navy Forces of Lithuania among its customers. Komunikacjos will then be pooled into the 2,000-person telecoms business of Comliet, which it said would now be able to focus on its own core strengths of construction and maintenance of fixed and wireless networks.

Privately held Sonex employs a total of 450 staff across 11 offices in Lithuania, and claims to have a 35% share of the IT services market in the region with clients including Lietuvos Telekomas, Lietuvos Dujos, Lietuvos Energija, Kraft Jacobs Suchard, Inkaras, Alita, Panevelio Stiklas, Lithuanian Airlines for which it provides IT consulting and systems integration services. The company, which is 33% owned by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, expects to grow its revenue 119% to 44.6m euros ($44.6m) during its full year 2002.
