COMGLOMORATE BASIX FILES FOR CHAPTER XI BANKRUPTCY PROTECTION

Conglomerate Basix Corp says that it has filed for Chapter XI bankruptcy protection after failing to restructure its debt, but says the filing does not include its CRA Inc computer leasing subsidiary, implying that that business remains sound and credit worthy and in a position to meet its obligations.
