The Detroit, Michigan-based firm said its improved service can now enable next-day payments to be made to companies across the country. It also offers a streamlined payment center that allows customers to manage their payment activity, the ability to add new bills by entering the payee’s phone number and automatic bill reminders via e-mail.

Michael Tierney, senior vice president, personal financial services for Comerica, said additional enhancements to the web banking system are planned for later this year.

Comerica reported total assets of $51.8bn on December 31, 2004.
