For those who spot it, the real excitement at Comdex is being generated by the minuscule screen that puts up a full-screen display, perfectly readable up you put it up to your eye and able to be focused to accomodate your myopia or presbyopia – yet is only 1 by 1.2 by 3.2: the thing comes from newcomer Reflection Technology Inc, Cambridge, Massachusetts, which refuses to say anything about the technology of the amber display; the thing draws 500mW and can be battery powered and worn on one of a pair of spectacles for those whose arms get tired, puts up a remarkable 720 by 280 pixels, is being pitched at those making pocket computers or facsimile receivers or radiopagers, goes into volume production at under $100 next year – and, needless to say, is the subject of an OEM pact with an unidentified Japanese giant.
