Comba Telecom introduces distributed antenna systems in North America

To provide efficient coverage and capacity enhancement at optimal capital

By CBR Staff Writer

Comba Telecom, a provider of wireless offerings, has introduced a range of in-building and outdoor active distributed antenna systems (DAS) offerings to the North American market, to provide efficient coverage and capacity enhancement at optimal capital (CAPEX) and operating expenditure (OPEX) for customers.

According to Comba Telecom, the new offering point-to-multipoint DAS features multi-band and dual band repeaters, and is an active RF offering designed to enhance wireless communications networks and support all major frequencies such as 700MHz, 850MHz, 1900MHz, and 2100MHz, along with GSM, CDMA, WCDMA and LTE standards.

The company said that the Comba DAS offering allows scalability without the need for replacing existing fiber and antenna systems, thereby allowing the system to easily accommodate growing capacity and coverage demands on the network.

In addition, through a web-based management software, users can fully control the system with remote monitoring and parameter adjustments such as uplink, downlink and threshold settings, the company said.

Augustin Chang, general manager of Comba Telecom, said: "DAS offerings are one of the most cost-effective offerings for distributing RF coverage to in-building and outdoor environments rapidly and efficiently.

"As such, we are delighted to bring the latest DAS offerings from Comba to the local market. Our tried-and-tested offerings have been successfully deployed in numerous projects around the world such as the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai for example."
