COLT TELECOM PLANS GERMAN EXPANSION

Colt Telecom Group Plc’s Colt Telecom GmbH says it plans to build a $62m fiber optic network to provide corporate phone services in Munich. It already has such a Metropolitan Area Network in Frankfurt and hopes to build others in Hamburg and Berlin this year. The Munich system will begin operation next fall with a 32- mile cable ring in the center of Munich, offering voice, data and video transmission services to businesses in the City.
