Rockwell International Corp’s Collins Defense Communications unit in Richardson, Texas has been awarded a $167m incrase to a fixed price incentive contract by the US Air Force for Low Rate Initial Production of Milstar terminals: the Milstar satellite communications system is being designed to provide secure and survivable jam-resistant communications for the strategic and tactical forces of all US military services, using Extremely High Frequency and other new technologies to withstand electronic warfare and attack throughout the 1990s.
