Coherent Communications Systems Corp, Hauppauge, New York is celebrating a major subcontract for 10,000 channels of EC-5500 digital echo cancellers from the hitherto very closed market of the Deutsche Bundespost, the business coming via main contractor, Alcatel NV’s Standard Elektrik Lorenz. The EC-5500 eliminates that irritating echo on long-distance lines, and has been designed to be compatible with Integrated Services Digital Networks.
