Nothing much at all seems to have come out of Microsoft Corp’s Alliance for Data Warehousing launched last year despite its acquisition of Israeli software house Panorama Software Systems and the promise of a data warehouse-aware version of SQL Server some time this year (CI No 3,033). But Cognos Inc is hoping that a UK bundling deal it has set up for PowerPlay and Impromptu, NT Server and SQL Server with Microsoft’s UK division will lead to bigger things worldwide.
