Burlington, Massachusetts-based Cognos Software Inc is shipping a version of its PowerHouse proprietary language for the 2.0 release of Digital Equipment Corp’s Alpha OSF/1 Unix. Currently, Cognos is testing the software under DEC’s latest OSF/1 version 3 release. PowerHouse is already up under OpenVMS on VAX and Alpha systems. Cognos’ Axiant graphical user interface-based client-server application development system is being prepared for OSF/1, according to Cognos, which says that the addition of a Windows front-end to PowerHouse will prepare users for Axiant. Wilmington, Massachusetts-based Visibility Corp is using the new version of PowerHouse for OSF/1 in a release of its Visibility manufacturing software. The new PowerHouse 7.33 for DEC OSF/1 sells for from $3,000.
