Cognizant, a provider of consulting, technology, and business process outsourcing services, has received a multi-year agreement from 3M.

Cognizant said that the agreement extends its relationship with 3M and encompasses a range of application development and related services to drive operational efficiencies and improve productivity.

Under the terms of agreement, Cognizant will leverage a new outcome-based, managed services engagement model with committed productivity benefits over the long-term.

Cognizant will also help reduce total cost of ownership and ensure provide quality and consistency across 3M’s applications portfolio, including software used in R&D, planning, sourcing and supply chain, manufacturing, e-commerce, finance, sales and marketing, and administration.

3M director of Applications Centre of Excellence Janel Haider said, Cognizant’s best practices will enhance decision-making, improve service-level predictability, reduce defects through applications testing and quality assurance services, and help the company scale production up and down based on market demands.
