COCOM MEETING AGREES RELAXTION OF CONTROLS …

The CoCom meeting in Paris last week agreed a comprehensive relaxation of controls on exports of sensitive technology to the Comecon countries, with Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia getting the most favourable treatment – but the liberalisation does not appear to take effect immediately, and the three most favoured countries must establish controls to prevent re-export.
