CMS in talks with Republic of Georgia to create commodities exchange

Software systems company CMS WebView has begun negotiations with the Republic of Georgia with the aim of creating an electronic commodities exchange in the country.

By CBR Staff Writer

If the discussions advance, CMS said it will return to Georgia later in the year with a delegation of commodities markets experts to examine the practicalities of creating and operating a commodities exchange in the country.

Bob Antell, chief executive of CMS, said, We are delighted that CMS has been chosen to lead discussions with the Georgian authorities. Our first visit in March is to establish a dialogue with the authorities towards the creation of a Georgia commodities exchange. If our discussions go well, one of my main objectives will be to return with commodities markets experts later in the year to take part in a follow-up seminar.
