CMS Enhancements Inc, Tustin, California has a 2.5 internal 20Mb disk subsystem for NEC Corp’s MultiSpeed EL lap-top – but it unhelpfully does not say where it is getting the drive, although from the spec, it looks like the PrairieTek. Commandeering the modem slot, the Super LiteDrive II has average access time of 28mS and data transfer rate of 625Kbits-per-second, power consumption is 2.6 Watts seeking, 3 Watts reading and writing. Aimed at the gap in the market caused by the fact that the MiltiSpeed has two floppies only, the Super LiteDrive II is $1,000 from September.
