CMS Enhancements Inc of Irvine, California has a new Platinum 88Mb removable disk subsystem, the PD 88RM which uses the new SyQuest Technology Corp drive and has an average access time of 15mS: the Platinum PD 88RM has one cartridge, CMS SCSI utilities 6.0, supporting passwording, partitioning and Apple Computer Inc’s A/UX Unix support, SUM II utilities for data recovery, encryption and back-up; in addition to reading and writing the 88Mb cartridges, it can read the earlier 44Mb versions and it costs $1,750.
