Internet company incubator, CMGI Inc, expects to be the second- largest global internet company in terms of revenue, behind America Online Inc, by next July, chief executive, David Wetherell said yesterday.
CMGI, which controls a web of internet businesses, currently ranks as the third-largest revenue generator among internet companies behind the world’s largest online service, AOL, and Yahoo Inc, the top search service and directory. Wetherell told delegates at Tuesday’s annual Bloomberg Internet conference in San Francisco that CMGI planned to take several of its companies’ public by early next year, increasing its marketable securities. á
