CMC MAGNETICS SETS UK FLOPPY PLANT

Floppy disk media maker CMC Magnetics Corp of Taipei, Taiwan is investing $50m to establish a subsidiary in Cramlington, Northumberland to make 3.5 floppies. Production at the planned Europa Magnetics Corp Ltd is to start in September doing 2.4m disks per month, rising to 6m in 1994 and 12m by the end of 1995; no word on number of jobs.
