Wipro signs with IBM Bluemix for app building in the cloud

IT consulting firm Wirpo has signed a deal with IBM to use its Bluemix cloud platform for development and deployment of mobile, analytics and machine learning solutions.

Wipro will use more than 100 services offered through IBM’s public Bluemix catalogue to build apps. It will also use Bluemix Dedicated – a private-cloud version for building apps which involve sensitive data.

IBM Cloud senior vice president Robert LeBlanc said: "Today’s developers need to quickly collect, analyse and make sense of massive data sets in ways that haven’t been possible before in advanced analytics development practices.

"The synergies that are created as a result of this collaboration will create competitive advantages for our customers by helping them leverage the IBM Cloud to speed data analysis, speed application deployment and speed time to market for their products and services."

Wipro has also announced that it will train and engage 15,000 of its developers on the Bluemix cloud development platform using online open course across 58 countries.

The developers will use Bluemix as a development platform which will help them to create new value-added services for company’s customers along with Wipro Analytics solutions.

Bluemix platform uses open source technologies and gives developers scalability and flexibility to build, deploy and manage cloud applications quickly and easily, IBM said.
