By James Nunns

VMworld Europe is underway and with it the company has released an array of products that it hopes will further the adoption of hybrid cloud environments.

The three releases are enhancements to its Hybrid Cloud Management Platform, vCloud NFV and enhancements to its Unified Hybrid Cloud.

The updates to the Unified Hybrid Cloud include making offering Google Cloud DNS to offer a low-latency DNS service. The purpose of this is to help simplify the customer ability to host web-facing applications on VMware vCloud air.

Other enhancements include updates to vCloud Director 8 which includes support for vSphere 6 and VMware NSX’s latest version. The company is also adding support for vSphere Integrated Containers on vCloud air.

The second update comes in the form of vRealise Automation 7 and vRealise Business Standard 7.
Behind the updates is the idea of accelerating the unified delivery of services across both public and private clouds.

Automation 7 is targeted at enabling IT and DevOps teams to accelerate the delivery of integrated multi-tier applications with application-centric networking and security across clouds.

Business Standard 7 is designed to improve the transparency and control over the costs and quality of IT services. It includes costing and pricing policies for private and public clouds including AWS and Microsoft Azure.

The final release is that of NFV offerings that are designed to help communications service providers to accelerate the deployment of the technology.

The company released its vCloud NFV platform, an NFV accreditation program and carrier-grade support for NFV deployments. It also partnered with Nokia Networks for support.

Bringing together virtualisation and management components, vCloud NFV aims to help CSPs to deploy a unified, multi-vendor and multi-function NFV platform. It is designed to support any application.
