Violin Memory has launched the FSP 7650 and 7450 all flash arrays, new storage systems built on the company’s Flash Storage Platform.
The key selling point is the reduction in latency; FSP 7650 offers latency of 200 microseconds at 1 million IOPS, which Violin Storage claims is a fivefold improvement upon the industry standards.
It has up to 140TB of raw capacity in a single enclosure, using only 3 rack units of space.
FSP 7450 systems can begin at 32TB effective capacity, or 8.8TB raw, and scale to 512TB effective and 140TB raw.
7450 is priced from $0.60 per GB of effective storage capacity of up to 512TB.
It has up to 0.5PB of effective capacity at 6-to-1 data reduction rates.
FSP 7450 has 340,000 IOPS with latency of 1 millisecond in fibre channel or iSCSI SAN environments.
