Veeam has launched the Veeam Backup for Linux to answer demand on individual cloud needs for instances backup and recovery.
The announcement was made by CEO Ratmir Timashev at VeeamON 2015 in Las Vegas.
He said the product does "backup and recovery for Linux servers running in the public cloud", as well as for a few remaining physical Linux servers running on premises.
Veeam Backup for Linux also performs on-premises restores from backups of individual cloud instances, or cloud restores of on-premises backups. The software will also be integrated with Veeam Backup and Replication v9.
Veeam also posted its Q3 2015 results which saw a yoy revenue jump of 17% when compared to Q3 2014.
The software firm saw 49% revenue growth on its core product, the Veeam Availability Suite, with revenue from the Enterprise Plus edition up 86% when compared to last year.
Speaking at the company’s VeeamON event in Las Vegas, Veeam CEO Ratmir Timashev also used the company’s VeeamON event to reveal his goal of generating $1bn in revenues by 2018.
Timashev said: "We like to talk about growth constantly. Two years ago we said we wanted to be a $1 billion company by 2018, and there’s still three years to achieve that goal.
