TIBCO creates a digitalSTROM in the smart home

Joint venture tackles scalability and integration of cloud-based and value-add services.

TIBCO and digitalSTROM have partnered to speed up connections in the smart home, combining TIBCO’s Fast Data platform with digitalSTROM’s smart home technology.

The venture will see TIBCO’s IoT event-driven platform, intelligent process modelling, and analytics capabilities enabling digitalSTROM connected devices to respond to situational changes.

German-Swiss digitalSTROM connects all electric household appliances using the home’s existing electrical wires, integrating broadband equipment to enable devices to work together via its terminal block, which features an integrated high-voltage chip.

Martin Vesper, CEO at digitalSTROM said: "The fast-growing, smart living sector provides a lot of opportunity for new business mTIBCO and digitalSTROModels. This is the perfect time for companies to expand into this market and to be part of the digitalSTROM ecosystem.

"Our joint open-platform approach with TIBCO is ideally suited to integrate more and more services, making a smart home even smarter over time."

Maurizio Canton, EMEA CTO for TIBCO added: "The Internet of Things in smart home systems necessitates quicker delivery of data, enabling instantaneous home management.

"digitalSTROM relies on TIBCO’s smart infrastructure to integrate data from on-premises systems with data hosted in the cloud to deliver actionable data whenever it is needed."
