Salesforce has released 20 Salesforce-partner business apps for Apple Watch.

The apps are built upon the company’s Salesforce1 Platform and are expected to cover all the aspects of business including collaboration, scheduling and project management.

The apps have been developed by third party developers including Salesforce-partner companies like Alpine Metrics, Apttus, Betterworks, Bracket Labs, Click Software, Vlocity, CloudSense, Fairsail, Financial Force, Footprints, Heywire, InsideSales, and New Voice Media.

The apps are reportedly meant for those who are on-the-go most of the time.

ClickSoftware created an app for the next generation watch which is designed to improve field technicians’ response time and efficiency, and Vlocity’s Wear app is capable of connecting to Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud to provide representatives with customer profile data.

Forbes cited Salesforce Wear business development head Lindsey Irvine as saying: "We need more use cases, we need more apps.

"The apps part is key to driving wearables into the mainstream. It makes those devices more than just gadgets and can make them into real business tools."

However, according to reports the new apps do not have any additional edge than other apps as they only provide quick notifications.
