Oracle mixes on-premise and cloud software

News: Cloud service offers a deployment portability feature.

By James Nunns

Oracle is making it so that businesses can integrate on-premise software with cloud software.

Two services called Oracle SOA Cloud Service and Oracle API Manager Cloud Service, will be added to the company’s cloud platform for Integration.

Built on its SOA Suite, the aim of these services is to help users integrate on-premise and cloud applications.

The SOA Suite works by tapping the concepts of service-oriented architecture and is designed to enable simple provisioning along with automated upgrades and scale out capabilities.

The cloud service offers a deployment portability feature, which supports hybrid integration, is designed to let users migrate their integration platform from the cloud to on-premises, then back again if needed.

The API Manager Cloud Service aims to let developers create custom APIs and then use them on internal or external consumers.
