Office 365 live at Equinix and Telecity data centres

News: Anything BT can do....

By Joao Lima

Colo providers Equinix and TelecityGroup scaled capabilities by offering Office 365 connectivity through Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute. In a similar offering to that of BT (see earlier story) the soon to merge data centre colo players promised direct connectivity to Office 365 on predictable network performance, flexibility and improved reliability.

In a blog post, Bill Long, VP of interconnection at Equinix said users will get enhanced data privacy since ExpressRoute enables most Office 365 network traffic to avoid the public internet.

It is served from 16 locations around the world.

Telecity has also added Microsoft’s Azure ExpressRoute for Office 365 to its Cloud-IX ecosystem, a software defined networking (SDN) platform.

The company said customers can now establish direct connections between their own networks and Office 365 through the Cloud-IX ecosystem.

Microsoft said that other partners involved in the launch also included BT, Tata Communications and Verizon.
