Microsoft Windows 10 makes long anticipated arrival

The business version of the software will be available next month.

By CBR Staff Writer

After several months of public beta testing, Microsoft has started rolling out the Windows 10 operating system for free, in systems running on Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 PC or tablet.

The new OS features numerous updates including introduction of the company’s voice assistance system Cortana, new Microsoft Edge browser, and a Xbox app which will deliver the Xbox experience to Windows 10.

The company will also offer the Microsoft Phone Companion app, which is designed to enable devices running on iOS, Android or Windows to work seamlessly with Windows 10 devices.

According to Microsoft, Windows 10 is the most secure OS yet as it is being delivered as a service and will get automatic updates with innovations and security features.

The launch will be accompanied by the introduction of Windows Store and Windows Software Development Kit for developers to tinker with the kit and introduce new apps for the platform.

Microsoft highlighted that Windows 10 for business includes built-in, enterprise-grade security, which will help companies stay protected against modern cyber attacks.

Starting today, users who have reserved their upgrade to Windows 10 will be notified about the upgrade, but business customers will have to wait till 1st August for the update to be rolled out.
