MariaDB has made its Enterprise Cluster with MaxScale available on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace to add security, scalability and maintenance capabilities.
Azure customers can already leverage their existing assets and investments, but the open-source company said the solution allows for enterprise scalability, and has been designed to be deployed in minutes.
It consists of a three-node MariaDB Enterprise Cluster based on Galera clustering technology and integrated with the firm’s MaxScale.
With the deployed MariaDB cluster accompanied by MaxScale, the company said this will allow changes to the database layer without inflicting downtime on the application layer.
The Galera Cluster is a synchronous multi-master cluster for MariaDB currently only available on Linux. MariaDB’s Enterprise Cluster is a high availability solution based on the company’s Enterprise and Galera Cluster designed to provision, deploy, monitor, and manage highly available databases.
Jason Stamper, analyst for data platforms and analytics at 451 Research, said: "Each deployment model has its strengths, and we predict that most enterprises will implement hybrid solutions that mix on-premises with public and private cloud deployments."
