Lenovo has announced its first partner program for cloud and managed service providers, along with a number of benefits for enrolees.

This move comes after the transition of the IBM System x server business to Lenovo. Lenovo’s Service Provider Program, which is available immediately, will deliver a streamlined channel along with engagement process.

The engagement process is designed to offer service providers the ability to choose infrastructure from a large portfolio in order to find an infrastructure which best meets their needs.

Wilfredo Sotolongo, vice president Enterprise Business Group, Lenovo EMEA, said: "Managed services spending is expected to triple in the next few years, and with the recent integration of the IBM System x portfolio, Lenovo is well positioned to offer beneficial programmes to new and existing providers."

"This new programme will provide approved service providers with a simple, efficient and profitable means to deliver high-value services to customers."

Lenovo states that the Service Provider Program will offer lower acquisition costs in order to increase IT availability. Another feature is Lenovo’s Kickstart program, this allows service providers to defer payments for up to 120 days.
