Infoblox moved past its reliance upon Excel as it sought to makes its financial processes more efficient.

The company deployed Adaptive Insights software to automate and analyse its financial data.

Infoblox which provides automated network control solutions opted to replace the financial teams budgeting system which has been built exclusively on Excel spreadsheets.

The company will use Adaptive Planning with plans to use further products from Adaptive with Discovery and OfficeConnect.

Adaptive Planning will be used to automate annual and quarterly forecast development in addition to the monthly and quarterly reporting of results.

Jonas Hallman, senior manager, FP&A, said: "Our finance team has more time to analyse data and provide better business advice to the rest of the organisation, which is critical to our company’s growth."

The move away from Excel and into an automated process means that it is no longer necessary to manually enter and export data from Excel.

Karen Pisha, VP, customer success, Adaptive Insights, said: "We built our product suite to enable finance organisations to drive strategic decisions across the company, especially in times of change and evolution."

As data analytics and automation becomes more common many time consuming roles will likely be automated.
