HPE & Microsoft take on hyper-converged hybrid IT

News: Partnership will see the introduction of a hyper-converged system.

By James Nunns

Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Microsoft are continuing to elevate their partnership with plans to deliver integrated hybrid IT infrastructure.

The hybrid cloud partnership between the two companies was revealed in late November, while the collaboration will also see extended product integration.

HPE and Microsoft are introducing a hyper-converged system, dubbed the HPE Hyper-Converged 250 for Microsoft Cloud Platform System Standard.

This will bring together HPE’s ProLiant technology with Microsoft Azure in a jointly engineered solution that aims to bring Azure services to customer data centres. Customers will use an Azure management portal to self-deploy Windows and Linux workloads.

In addition to this, customers can use HPE OneView for Microsoft System centre, this is designed to give customers an integrated management experience, the company says.

As part of the partnership, HPE will enable Azure consumption and services on every HPE server.

HPE is making Microsoft Azure its preferred public cloud partner and HPE becoming a preferred partner in providing infrastructure and services for Microsoft’s hybrid cloud offerings.
