Domino’s Pizza has selected Hitachi Consulting to increase the agility of its IT function as part of a DevOps strategy.

Hitachi Consulting will help the pizza firm’s software delivery team in the design, build, testing and rollout of new apps, apart from delivering DevOps consultancy.

The strategy will help Domino’s Pizza in increasing cross-team collaboration and take advantage of cloud infrastructure and DevOps tools.

Domino’s Pizza seeks to improve its customer experience, specially via its e-commerce operation, which accounts for 69.4% of all delivered sales in the UK & ROI.

The take away pizza firm plans to undertake a continuous approach to IT delivery to make sure that its online and mobile apps users have a better experience.

To achieve its goals, the company plans to work with Hitachi Consulting for automating parts of its software testing processes as it moves most of its operations to the cloud.

Domino’s Pizza head of IT (software delivery) Rod Brooks said: "With our eye constantly on innovation, we are always seeking ways to make our customers lives easier. So, it’s important to have the capability to become more agile and have the scalability to keep ahead of the competition.

"Hitachi Consulting provides us with that capability, but in turn we’re able to share our experiences, as a rapidly growing e-commerce and m-commerce business."

Hitachi Consulting director of testing quality assurance Jonathon Wright said: "With DevOps, there is a strong focus on continuous testing and constant delivery. This means there is more emphasis on testing much earlier in the solution delivery lifecycle.

"Domino’s Pizza has embraced continuous integration and testing to help the software delivery team rapidly build, test, and deliver secure, high-quality applications."
