Hearst gets good housekeeping with Oracle Cloud

CBR couldn't make Cosmopolitan work in the title...

Hearst, the publisher of such well-known titles as Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping and Esquire, is to use Oracle Cloud to fuel global expansion and accelerate business growth.

Oracle’s secure, scalable, and unified cloud solutions will be used to streamline and simplify business processes across finance, procurement, and HR. The hope is that Oracle Cloud will provide a common innovation platform for all of Heart’s business interests, which in turn will give employees an intuitive, insightful, and engaging experience.

The adoption of Oracle Cloud is part of a larger strategy to transform Hearst via cloud applications includes the company’s digital transformation program, dubbed Project UniFi. It will take advantage of integrated Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Cloud, Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Cloud, and Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud solutions to deliver a modern, unified technology platform

“Our enterprise portfolio of businesses and investments needs a strong, common foundation to efficiently integrate Hearst’s diverse properties and future acquisitions,” said Bill Kager, vice president of finance, Hearst. “Oracle’s Cloud solutions will provide approximately 20,000 Hearst employees with human capital management, finance, and planning capabilities that will allow them to better communicate and execute their jobs.”

Oracle ERP Cloud and Oracle EPM Cloud will allow Hearst to manage finances with a consolidated view into business operations via powerful visualizations and reporting analytics. This aims to give Hearst insightful decision making and integrated planning and budgeting.

Oracle HCM, meanwhile, will look to roll-out one common model for HR process across the Hearst business. It will reduce manual and duplicative efforts and ensure tight HR process integration to drive complete and impactful reporting and analytics on Hearst’s employee base.

The digital transformation program will first be rolled out to US, UK and Canada operations before being extended globally.
