Google improves the aim of Cloud Launcher

Operating systems including Windows and Ubuntu added to its Launcher.

By James Nunns

Google has added 25 solutions to its Cloud Launcher which it released in March.

Recent additions to the already 120 strong open source application package include Chef, Crate, OpenCart, Sharelock and Codiad, with the company planning to add more on an ongoing basis.

It has also added 14 operating systems to the Launcher, which include Windows, Ubuntu, Redhat, SUSE, Debian and CentOS.

The company’s Cloud Monitoring has also been integrated out of the box with 50 solutions with built-in components such as MySQL, Apache, Cassandra, Tomcat and Redis to provide DevOps with an integrated view into their application.

Ophir Kra-Oz, Group Product Manager, wrote: "To help users compare these solutions, we’ve updated the Cloud Launcher interface with detailed information on pricing, support (for OS), and free trial."
