BT has won two new contracts from the European Commission worth over €24m to provide public and private cloud services to EU institutions, agencies and bodies.
About 52 major European institutions, agencies and bodies including the European Parliament, the European Council and the European Defence Agency will benefit from the deal, which will run for four years.
The services will be hosted on several data centres within the European Union (EU). The data will be managed from BT’s Compute Management System (CMS).
BT Global Services president for Europe and global telecom markets Corrado Sciolla said: "This is a milestone in our journey to be the leading global cloud services integrator, and demonstrates how we minimise the complexity, risks and costs for our customers as they move to the cloud."
The contracts, which were awarded last December, are the third and fourth secured by BT with the European Commission during 2015.
Last August, the company signed one framework contract worth €15.2m, lasting seven years, and another one in March 2015, worth €55.7m.
The August deal included voice services across 21 major European institutions, agencies and bodies, while the March one was signed to provide internet access to EU institutions.
