Dell launches Flex Pay service for hybrid cloud deployments in Europe

The trial offers customers to weigh the system for Microsoft over six months.

By CBR Staff Writer

Dell has launched its Flex Pay service in Europe to enable customers in the region to try its hybrid cloud platform.

The financing program will offer an option for customers to test a hybrid cloud infrastructure, preventing “hasty” long-term decisions.

Dell said: “Customers are investing in hybrid cloud solutions as a way to control IT costs, gain flexibility and agility and deliver new services. Nine out of 10 IT decision makers worldwide say that a cloud strategy is important to achieving a Future Ready enterprise.

Cloud Flex Pay allows you to experience the benefits of a hybrid cloud solution without a long term commitment.”

Using the service, customer can weigh the Dell hybrid cloud system for Microsoft over six months.

After the trial period, customers can choose to stay with Dell or return the hardware.

Dell Financial Services manager Cormac Costelloe said: “It’s important that customers have the option to test which cloud solution is right for their needs, without worrying about the cost.

“With Cloud Flex Pay, we’re able to remove financial barriers and help customers to realise the benefits of hybrid cloud first-hand.”

Dell said that many companies are not interested to go ‘all in’ on public, even as it is easy to benefit from public cloud services offered by vendors such as Amazon and Microsoft.

IDC estimates external cloud adoption to grow between 22 to 32.1% over the next two years despite a strong growth in public cloud.

Costelloe said: “Our goal is to provide customers with a choice by offering an open, flexible, end-to-end and modular approach – no matter where they are in their cloud journey.”

Currently, Dell Cloud Flex Pay is offered in 19 countries across the EMEA region.

At last year’s VMworld, Dell made several announcements related to hybrid cloud, saying that it can assist customers in shifting to private and hybrid clouds.

Dell engineered solutions and cloud vice president and general manager Jim Ganthier said: “Several studies have shown the clear customer value and accelerating rate of repatriating previously public cloud only deployments to hybrid cloud environments.

“Dell’s innovations coupled with our ongoing and extensive VMware partnership enable our joint customers to not only achieve the above but also deliver both business results and outcomes.”
