Strong subscriber growth for Adobe’s Creative Cloud helped boost fourth quarter profits.

The company saw a profit for the quarter at $222.7 million, up from $88.1 million for the same period last year.

Total revenue rose to $1.31 billion, while revenue from its digital marketing business rose 2.3% to $382.7.

The profitable quarter has been supported by the company adding 833,000 subscribers to its Creative Cloud. Financial analysts had predicted this number to be around 697,000.

The company says that around 52% of customers subscribe to the highest-priced full Creative Cloud, with others subscribing to products such as Photoshop Lightroom.

Adobe also reported that cash flow from operations was $455 million, with deferred revenue growing to $1.49 billion.

"Our long-term financial targets, including a 20% revenue CAGR through fiscal 2018, show that the benefits of our move to the cloud are just beginning," said Shantanu Narayen, president and CEO Adobe.
