Cloud migration and Big Data in WANdisco Fusion

News: Product enhancements aim to make it easier to move Hadoop Big Data applications into the cloud.

By James Nunns

Big Data software company WANdisco is aiming to make cloud migration easier.

The UK company has made a number of updates to its Fusion Platform that aims to deliver uninterrupted migration, streaming backup and hybrid burst-to-cloud capabilities.

It is offering this in the form of seven plug-ins, supported by the company’s active replication technology.

The technology works to ensure that servers and clusters are fully readable and writeable, always in sync and can recover automatically from each other, in the result of downtime.

Three of the plug-ins are designed to address cost reduce, reducing complexity and increased data security, these can be used both on-premise and in the cloud.

The Fusion Software Development Kit is also being introduced; it is designed to enable enterprises to use Fusion for active-active replication of any data source.

The idea behind these plug-ins is to help businesses that are looking to move Hadoop Big Data applications into production, and to utilise the benefits of the cloud.
