Cisco powers cloud scale media experiences with new Media Blueprint

News: Media Blueprint solutions allow content providers and broadcasters to produce, store, and distribute premium video.

By CBR Staff Writer

Cisco has launched new cloud scale media experiences to assist content providers in the rapid generation and distribution of more video direct to consumers.

At NAB 2016, the company is unveiling its Media Blueprint, a set of infrastructure and software solutions that is claimed to power cloud scale media experiences and speed up the creation, delivery and monetisation of immersive content.

The solutions of Cisco Media Blueprint allow content providers and broadcasters to produce, store, distribute and secure premium video.

Based on open standards, the platform is supported by several of the media industry’s important software providers.

Cisco has introduced various new solutions for the Media Blueprint that are paired with recently unveiled cloud video and security solutions.

Global media customers including NBC Olympics, CBS News Digital and several others are implementing the solutions.

IP Fabric for Media is optimised for broadcast media production depending on Cisco Nexus switches and SDN Controllers to allow the migration from SDI to IP.
