The DevOps automation firm, Chef will have its software made available through the AWS Marketplace.

The company will have 1-Click deployment enabled so that customers will be able to rapidly deploy the solution. Customers can benefit from a single source for automation, cloud and DevOps, which will increase the appeal of the marketplace.

Gartner expects that by 2016, DevOps will become a mainstream strategy that will be employed by 25% of Global 2000 organisations.

While cloud computing continue to drives transformation of infrastructure and application into services, IT is faced with managing constant scale. In order to make these efforts more manageable the two companies can be used to organise the migration of workloads, to automate and manage change.

Customers will be able to use Chef to migrate workloads from on-premise data centres to AWS.

Users of the cloud service will be able to consume Chef at an hourly rate, using the pay as you scale resources of the cloud service.
