Box ‘fundamentally’ changing app market

Developer Addition and additional SDK's designed to assist developers.

By James Nunns

Box is looking to capture more fans with its Developer Addition, which includes a user and authentication model for building apps on the Box platform.

The company revealed what it is calling ‘breakthrough’ modular SDK’s for building on mobile devices.

Aaron Levie, co-founder and CEO of Box, said: "Our APIs and new Developer Edition fundamentally change how a new generation of developers will shape the world’s leading digital enterprises."

"These new platform technologies will make it easier than ever for developers to unlock the full power of the Box platform and create new digital experiences that transform the way people and organizations work."

The Developer Edition is designed to give the developer control over the user experience, while the company has also added new ecosystem partners for its preview experience. It is now working with Airtable, Appcelerator, Autodesk, Brightact and several others that will help with integration.

The mobile SDK’s are designed to help developers to build enterprise apps on Box by enabling user authentication, preview permissions, collaboration and a streamlined navigation.
