Autoglass is moving to the cloud, having signed a 10-year outsourcing deal with CSC worth £25m.

Responding to digital channel demand, Autoglass will move its IT infrastructure to an infrastructure-as-a-service platform, with CSC providing cyber security, enterprise service management, storage and application management and development to the vehicle glass repair and replacement company.

The move to cloud hopes to simplify governance and enable an enhanced multi-channel experience for Autoglass customers.

"Continuously improving technology, customer service and user experience is increasingly important given that many customers now prefer to use digital channels to communicate with us," said Nick Cleary, technology director for Autoglass.

"Digital innovation and investment in technology are at the core of our business strategy as they are fundamental drivers of customer experience. With its deep understanding of our business and systems CSC will be taking on greater responsibility for our IT systems and infrastructure to deliver improved stability and performance – both of which will benefit our people, our customers and our business."

"We are delighted to be extending our relationship with Autoglass® and look forward to fully leveraging CSC’s next generation delivery capabilities to deliver enhanced service levels and innovation in support of the business goals Autoglass have," said Matthew Doucy, industry general manager for CSC’s UK Manufacturing and Automotive business.

"The new CSC IaaS platform will give Autoglass greater flexibility and improved speed of service."
