Telecom giant AT&T has teamed up with IBM to provide a scalable mobile cloud solution that is designed to protect corporate data and apps.
The partnership will combine AT&T and IBM’s mobile cloud security solution which will help customers secure their device, connectivity and data.
The reference architecture will include IBM MobileFirst Protect, which is designed to help organisations manage and control mobile devices, apps and documents.
It will also include IBM Cloud infrastructure service SoftLayer that secures public and private clouds for applications and data storage.
AT&T NetBond will also be included in the offering, providing a secure, scalable network connection to IBM’s SoftLayer.
Users will also receive separate billing of business and personal charges for voice, messaging and data use on an employee’s personal handset.
AT&T said that connect customers, partners and employees across devices has become extremely challenging due to the complexity involved in securing corporate data, as criminals are increasingly targeting mobile apps.
According to AT&T cyber security Insights report, 62% increase in DDoS attacks has been recorded over the past 2 years.
A study by Akamai also found that the number of DDoS attacks have doubled during the second quarter compared to last year, with one attack clocking more than 240Gbps and lasting for more than 13 hours.
IBM research also revealed that nearly half of all companies allocate no budget to securing the apps they develop.
