Accenture, SAP get in vogue for fashion retail

Collaboration will retailers increase visibility and integration across wholesale and retail channels.

By CBR Staff Writer

Accenture and SAP have come together to expand the capabilities of fashion management of SAP’s S/4HANA and accelerate the digital transformation journey of fashion, accessory and luxury retail brands.

The new solution will leverage technology capabilities of SAP S/4HANA, the flexibility of cloud services and Accenture’s deep retail industry knowledge. It will also help retailers in building omnichannel solutions, where inventory requirements are managed in an easier and effective way.

SAP Retail Industry Business Unit global head Achim Schneider said: “SAP and Accenture bring a culture of co-innovation to the table that has allowed us to collectively innovate and accelerate our development road map.

“The new solutions we are creating show a committed investment in our clients’ future success.”

With the new technology, Accenture says that retailers will be able to simultaneously view and manage, not only retail, but also wholesale and manufacturing channels. It can also help businesses in analysing and directing where and how products are lined up based on their business rules.

In addition to building core components, Accenture will also help SAP in developing proprietary product extensions. The new fashion management solution from SAP will be a vertical solution which will have end-to-end scenario integration across extended retail supply chain, Accenture said.

Accenture further claims that SAP’s S/4HANA will enable fashion organisations to run effectively and efficiently through its new processes including multichannel material requirements planning and order allocation with the ability to stimulate scenarios.

Accenture Retail senior managing director Jill Standish said: “Retail demands speed – whether interacting with customers, bringing new products to market, expanding into new geographies, integrating merged companies or driving operational efficiencies.

“Working to extend SAP S/4HANA to the fashion industry is the first of many planned actions in our collaboration. Together, we combine the best thinking, IP and experts at all levels, including development, go-to-market, customer support and outcomes.

“With our access to the platform code for SAP S/4HANA and our deep retail delivery capabilities, we are well-positioned to help retailers drive the most business value from SAP solutions and meet the unique needs of their industry now and in the future.”
