10 VC funding rounds which closed this week

List: Money is pouring into tech companies - see where the millions have gone this week.

1. Symphony – Undisclosed

Bloomberg terminal rival symphony has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Google. The provider of messaging systems for financial firms is now rumoured to be worth approximately $650m. Read more about this story here.

 

2. AppDirect – $140m

AppDirect, a firm runs a platform that sells and manages cloud service marketplaces closed a funding round for $140 million.

The funding round was led by J.P. Morgan and saw participation from existing investors including Foundry Group, iNovia Capital, Mithril Capital Management, StarVest Partners and Stingray Digital. Read more on this story here.

 

3. Code42 – $85m

Code42, an endpoint data protection and security provider for the enterprise, has secured $85 million in Series B funding led by new investors JMI Equity and New Enterprise Associates.

Existing investors Accel and Split Rock Partners also participated in the financing, increasing their combined ownership in the company. This brings the company’s total funding raised to more than $137 million.

4. Aquantia – $37m

Aquantia secured $37 million in an oversubscribed Series H round of growth capital. New investors participating in the round include Credit Suisse’s Direct Equity Partners, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, and Walden Riverwood along with existing investor Cisco Investments.

The provider of high-speed Ethernet copper connectivity solutions for the data center and enterprise has raised a total of $199M and currently employs over 160 people.

 

5. Talkdesk – £21m

Talkdesk, a cloud-based call center software provider, announced a $6M extension round of the Series A with strategic investment led by Salesforce Ventures and participation from Talkdesk’s existing investors, DFJ and Storm Ventures.

Talkdesk will use these new funds to expand its engineering, product and sales teams. With this latest round of funding added to the Series A, Talkdesk has raised a total of $21M in this round.

 

6. Robin Systems – $15m

Robin Systems, a company focused on the creation of the industry’s first data-centric compute and storage containerisation software, has closed a new funding round of $15 million.

Led by a USAA subsidiary and DN Capital, with participation from Hasso Plattner Ventures and existing investors, the funding round brings total investment in the company up to $22 million.

 

7. YouNow – £15m

The live social network YouNow, which connects audiences and broadcasters in real time, has secured $15 million in new financing in a round co-led by current backers Venrock and Oren Zeev. Joining this round was new investor, Comcast Ventures.

Adi Sideman, YouNow’s founder and CEO says, ‘The addition of Comcast Ventures to our family of backers underscores our success in building a real-time social network that fulfills the needs of a younger, digitally savvy generation that is eager to participate in media and not just consume it.

8. Censio – $10m

Censio, a technology company that uses proprietary software and big data to make driving safer and more affordable, has closed on a $10 million Series A round of funding.

The round, which was led by General Catalyst Partners and included funding from Bain Capital Ventures and Lakestar, brings total equity capital raised to more than $13 million.

 

9. Neumob – $8.5M

Neumob, the company that speeds up mobile apps, today announced that it has closed an $8.5 million round of series A financing led by Accel Partners. The funding will accelerate Neumob’s go-to-market and business-to-business customer acquisition strategies.

Additional institutional investors in the round include Shasta Ventures, Eniac Ventures and Lightbank Ventures.

 

10. BuyerQuest – $7m

BuyerQuest, a leading provider of cloud-based enterprise P2P software solutions raised $7M in growth equity. The investment was led by New York-based private equity firm Argentum with Chicago-based First Analysis also participating.

The new growth capital will be used to further expand BuyerQuest’s cloud based software suite with increased investment in its downstream capabilities including B2B payments, early payment discounts, and BuyerQuest’s no-fee Supplier Network.
