Optum manages business processes and provides data retrieved from product information generated from supply chain processes. Click will include the company’s RFID-ready demand fulfillment software in its existing portfolio of channel management and collaborative commerce software.

Michael Ferro, CEO of Click Commerce, said the acquisition is the latest step in Click’s strategy to assemble products that improve supply chain and business process functionality, and helps the company to extend its role in the RFID space.

As consideration for the acquisition, Click Commerce will issue approximately 1,500,000 shares of its common stock, assume approximately $4.5m of Optum indebtedness, and incur various transaction-related expenses.
